Hi, I’m Dave, welcome to my world.<\/h3>\n

First and foremost, I LOVE to eat\u2026 not the trendy small plates, not the avocado toast, not the Keto stuff, frankly I like cheese too much for vegan, and nothing that is overly healthy.\u00a0 Pizza, Meat, Cheese, Bread, and more Pizza\u2026\u00a0 For the most part I eat and cook normal everyday meals, and that\u2019s what I\u2019ll be sharing with you. The majority of what is posted on this web site will pertain to food in some way shape or form, but I also travel, play sports, take photos, and read books along with working a day job.<\/p>\n

With eclectic taste and the subtlety of a flying mallet this web site will reflect my fundamental qualities as a human and explorer of new and interesting conditions with a straight forward approach. I don\u2019t want this website to be like all the other Lifestyle sites so below are my promises to you and some of the topics I\u2019ll post about.<\/p>\n

The promises I make to you the intrepid web surfer\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. You won\u2019t have to read through 12 paragraphs of my personal memoir before you get to a recipe.\u00a0 A paragraph with tips, modifications, or additional thoughts is all it should take.<\/li>\n
  2. Any products that I endorse (other than the Deals category) will be because I either already use\/own it or recently tried it out and liked it enough to pass it on.\u00a0 I will NOT be trying to score free stuff\/product sponsorships and will NOT say I like something strictly for compensation.<\/li>\n
  3. Advertising and links to third party content (other than the Deals category) will be kept pretty sparse on the site.\u00a0 I\u2019d love to pay for the hosting and time, but I\u2019m doing this as an expression of my stupidity not to make money!<\/li>\n

    I read a lot (about a book a week), and mostly paper but the occasional eBook.\u00a0 If I come across something that I find especially well written I\u2019ll review it and give a link to Amazon if you want to buy it and throw a few pennies my way.<\/p>\n

    DEALS<\/p>\n

    These are not going to be recommendations, but discounts and deals that I come across that fit the mold the of what I am interested in or might fit with the general content of DDP\u2019s Kitchen. Cooking tools, food\/restaurant coupons, tech bargains, etc.<\/p>\n

    FOOD<\/p>\n

    What more can I say\u2026 did I mention I like pizza? Cooking is a pleasure for me, especially when I have an audience (think big family meals). This site is mostly about food and I hope you can enjoy some of the flavors I provide for you.<\/p>\n

    EATING OUT<\/p>\n

    When I travel, I start looking for restaurants long before arrival.\u00a0 I hate to eat at chain restaurants on the road, so unless I have suggestions from friends and family, I often consult Yelp<\/a> (looking for local favorites and mom & pop type places) for my meal choices.\u00a0 When I hit up these restaurants, I\u2019ll review the best ones I find so that you can have an idea of where to go when you visit stray towns across the United States.<\/p>\n

    LIFESTYLE<\/p>\n

    I\u2019m not sure what this really means to me, but Lifestyle will be the catch all category for the posts that don\u2019t fit anywhere else.\u00a0 Think home, garden, health tips and other random musings.<\/p>\n

    SPORTS<\/p>\n

    Pitching at New York Yankees Fantasy Camp (2017)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

    I\u2019m in my mid 40\u2019s and still play baseball (real baseball\u2026 tried softball for two seasons and didn\u2019t enjoy it) in a couple leagues two to three days a week from spring through fall.\u00a0 I\u2019ve also participated in the New York Yankees fantasy camp three times and still coach my son and help out with an American Legion baseball team.\u00a0 Sports are pretty much as close as I get to fitness so anything athletically minded in my life will get a mention here.<\/p>\n

    RECIPES<\/p>\n

    Every recipe you see here has been contrived, tried, modified, simplified, and verified by me. I’ve made them all at least once, and usually two or three times to tweak and make them as simple as possible. You don\u2019t have to make them exactly the way I do, and substitutions are perfectly fine and encouraged.\u00a0 When it calls for fresh tomatoes and you only have canned, who cares its close enough! I would love for you to comment and rate any and all of the recipes on this site and provide your thoughts and additions.\u00a0 If you have a recipe that you think is awesome, please send an email to info@DDPsKitchen.com<\/a> with the recipe and I\u2019ll try it out.\u00a0 If my family likes it (they are a tough and picky crowd), I\u2019ll post it and give you full credit with a link to you site, blog, Facebook or whatever if you want me to.<\/p>\n

    TECHNOLOGY<\/p>\n

    Who doesn\u2019t love the latest gadget?\u00a0 When I purchase a new TV, phone, or other technological marvel I\u2019ll be sure to pass on the experience and my thoughts on the process and results.<\/p>\n

    TRAVEL<\/p>\n

    I travel for work a couple times a month, and this affords me the opportunity to experience new hotels, restaurants, and attractions from Virginia through the Northeast.\u00a0 For the past ten years I also have had the pleasure to take a two-week summer driving (think Clark W. Griswold) vacation all over the United States.\u00a0 I plan to share some of these adventures with images, descriptions and reviews of destinations and experiences.<\/p>\n

    A little more about me…<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    I live about an hour outside of Philadelphia. Have previously lived in Northern Virginia and grew up a Navy brat in Virginia Beach, Virginia.<\/p>\n

    I\u2019ve been married for almost 20 years with a son, a daughter, and two dogs.<\/p>\n

    I love pizza, have never been to Egypt, and still play baseball.<\/p>\n
